Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2023: Be a Backpacker!

Have you ever wanted to give backpacking a try, but didn’t know where to start? Join Park Interpreter Ashley to learn all the basics you will need to embark on your first backpacking trip while hiking a portion of the Ozark Highlands Trail. As we hike, we will also learn about the seven principles of Leave No Trace and discover how to make outdoor spaces better for everyone! We will be hiking 3 miles, so be sure to wear good shoes, bring a snack, and bring water. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required by September 4. This program can go toward meeting the requirements of several badges, including Eco-Trekker, Adventure Camper, Eco Camper, Survival Camper, Ambassador Trail Adventure, and more.
