Arkansas Heritage School Day: Life Along The River In Early Arkansas

Arkansas Heritage School Day is the perfect opportunity for students to immerse themselves into the rich history of the White River region during the Arkansas territorial years! The crew of the early 19th Century keelboat Aux Arc will be onsite to tell you about life along the White River. Other demonstrations and programs will feature early weaponry such as the bow and arrow and black powder firearms; hunting and trapping skills along with preparing and preserving of meat, furs, and hides. Additionally, there will be blacksmiths and iron workers working their traveling forges. Visitors will get to see blacksmiths and bladesmiths  demonstrating their special skills. Visit the encampment to learn the exciting history of Jacksonport along the White River!
