Meeting Martha, the Last Passenger Pigeon
Visitor Center
What to know
The wooded hills at Hobbs State Park were one of the last strongholds for the now extinct passenger pigeon. Park Interpreter Chris will take you back to the late 1800s when pigeoneers made their living harvesting what was possibly the most abundant bird in the world and discuss efforts to save other species before it’s too late. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
