November Sky Astronomy Program and Viewing Party
What to know
Come
and experience the night sky with the Sugar Creek Astronomical Society. The
evening will begin with a lecture on “How to Buy a Telescope.” Following that
will be the viewing party to look for Neptune rising in the east, dazzling Jupiter
and Saturn, the always bright Venus in the southwest at sunset, and possibly Pluto
in the southern sky. They will also look for some “deep sky” objects such as diffuse
nebulae, planetary nebulae, open star clusters, globular star clusters, and
galaxies. Recommended minimum age is 8 years old. Items you may wish to bring
include a flashlight covered with a red cloth or red balloon, binoculars and/or
telescope, folding chair, and a star chart if you have one. COVID-19 SAFETY GUIDELINES ARE IN EFFECT FOR GUEST AND
STAFF SAFETY. SPACE MAY BE LIMITED.
