1st Friday Crafts - Duck Decoy
Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park
What to know
Join us on the 1st Friday of July to create an American Indian craft. Everyone will make and take home a Native American-style duck decoy assembled from cattail leaves. Because native peoples only had primitive weapons, duck decoys were a necessary hunting strategy. Decoys continue to be used even in modern hunting. All materials are provided! Reservations are required, as space is limited.
