Fall Equinox Celebration
Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park
What to know
The Plum Bayou Culture built this unique mound complex over 1,000 years ago. Activities at this ceremonial center may have included games, feasts, and other special celebrations. This event will offer hands-on opportunities to learn about American Indian culture. Come celebrate the fall season by participating in American Indian weapons demonstrations and create a duck decoy made of cattail leaves. At 6 p.m., we will begin a guided tour of the mound site with a park interpreter to observe the sunset over Mound A, the tallest mound in Arkansas.
