Kids' Cane Pole Fishing
Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park
What to know
Ever wonder what fish were like a thousand years ago? They probably were fairly similar to the fish found in Mound Lake today. The Plum Bayou people ate several species, such as bowfin, catfish, gar, bass, crappie, drum, and many types of sunfish. Kids ages 15 and younger, come join us in learning about the techniques they used, make your own cane fishing pole, and cast a few lines from our boardwalk. Reservations are required, as space and supplies are limited.
