Tinker Time for Kids: Build a Bird's Nest

Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources

What to know

At the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources, we offer a variety of hands-on activities that explore local history and nature. Come to the museum to explore with a park interpreter some of the history of the 1920s oil boom in south Arkansas, and how the rush to find black gold impacted the environment and local wildlife, such as birds.  As we discover the story of the past, we will also learn some fun facts about the birds that call the Oil Park home during this time of year. Then we will make our own bird’s nests using materials found in the park.  Please contact the museum at (870) 725-2877 to reserve a place in the program. Covid-19 guidelines will be in effect for guest and staff safety. Space may be limited.
