Tinker Time: Teaching History from the 1920s Oil Boom through the Garden

They both came from the ground- one for food and the other for money. How did one make a difference to the other? Come and learn this fun kid - friendly introduction to the history of gardening in the 1920s and the effects that the oil boom played on it in south Arkansas. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn a little history, while participating in a couple of hands - on gardening projects that should result in both growth and charted observation. The visitors will learn as south Arkansans did in the 1920s responsibility, teamwork and respect for nature. (Take a tour around the park and see machinery and pictures of equipment used during that time). Due to limited space, registration is required for this program.
