Onward Ozarks - Heartland Health Caucus
What to know
Join us at 9 a.m. on Friday, January 19, for an illuminating talk about health care in the Heartland.
Heartland Forward, a policy “think and do” tank based in Bentonville, Arkansas, released a landmark report in December 2022 entitled: Health Care Access in the Heartland: How to Improve Services in Rural America. As a result of this report, the Heartland Health Caucus was launched as an initiative to bring together the top public policy decision-makers and leaders focused on health care in six states - Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The Caucus serves as a forum to exchange new ideas in addressing pressing health issues and accelerating new and consistent policy approaches across states with the vision to:
- Develop proposals to simplify the health care system
- Advance legislation to address Heartland health needs
- Champion health as an economic issue
Joining Onward Ozarks for a discussion on Heartland Forward’s health and wellness work are Angie Cooper, EVP, Blake Woolsey, chief communications and development officer and Maria Rodriquez-Alcala, director of programs for health and wellness.
Randy Wilburn, founder and host of the I Am Northwest Arkansas podcast, serves as the Onward Ozarks host and moderator.
