Arkansas Heritage Holiday Open House Events


LITTLE ROCK – Four Arkansas Heritage museums will host Holiday Open House events Dec. 4 and 5. Delta Cultural Center in Helena opens their doors on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the three museums in downtown Little Rock will celebrate on Dec. 5 at various times. All events are free and open to the public. A complimentary trolley will be available to shuttle guests between the downtown Little Rock museums and the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion, which will also be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.     Details on the individual events are listed below:   Delta Cultural Center, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Located in Helena at 141 Cherry St., the Delta Cultural Center will hold a Holiday Open House. Guests will enjoy music, refreshments, a raffle and the annual holiday bake-off. The DCC Christmas Bake-Off Contest is comprised of three separate categories: cake, pie and cookies. The deadline to register for the contest is Saturday, Dec. 4, 9:30 a.m.    Historic Arkansas Museum, Dec. 5, 12 – 4 p.m.  The 54th annual Frolic will be held at the Historic Arkansas Museum, located in the block between Scott and Cumberland off E. Third St. The museum and historic grounds will be open for an afternoon of old-fashioned fun including music, refreshments and crafts.    Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Dec. 5, 2 – 5 p.m.   Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, located on the corner of Broadway and historic Ninth Street in downtown Little Rock, has for years, been host to two special December events: Cocoa and Carols and the Say It Ain't Say's Sweet Potato Pie Contest. This year the museum is combining these events into one Holiday Open House. Enjoy music, crafts and a visit from Santa.    Old State House Museum, Dec. 5, 1 – 5 p.m.  Old State House Museum, located at 300 W.
