Brenda Clark Named El Dorado Welcome Center Manager by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism

Brenda Clark has been named manager of the Arkansas Welcome Center in El Dorado. Built by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, the Arkansas Welcome Centers are managed by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
Clark is from Pine Bluff and has also lived in Lubbock, Texas, and Kemmerer, Wyo., before settling in Hampton, Ark. In her new position she will maintain the El Dorado Welcome Center, provide visitors with travel information and serve as liaison between the Department of Parks and Tourism and the surrounding community.
Clark comes to the department with a career in newspaper publishing, starting as a receptionist at the South Arkansas Accent. She became lifestyle editor upon her transfer to The Camden News, and while accruing this on-the-job experience she also completed journalism courses at Southern Arkansas University Tech. Clark later bought the Accent and the South Arkansas Sunand combinedthe two publications. She has covered Calhoun County in the South Arkansas Sun for the past 20 years.
“I’m looking forward to broadening my knowledge of The Natural State and its various tourist attractions and destinations. As a frequent traveler of the state, I am eager to meet the many people that visit the El Dorado Welcome Center on their way to explore southwest Arkansas,” said Clark.
