Jonesboro native speaks at statewide Parks and Tourism conference
Joe Turney, former executive vice president of Heritage Bank of Jonesboro, spoke at the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism’s Arkansas Retirement Symposium, held October 30 in Little Rock.
The inaugural symposium brought together community leaders from across the state to learn how to position their communities to attract retirees for tourism and relocation. Turney served as a member of an industry panel that included representatives of the banking, real estate, health care, military and continuing education sectors.
Ample outdoor recreation opportunities, diverse cultural attractions and affordable housing are just three of the reasons retirees are relocating to The Natural State, which translates into local dollars and solid economic development in communities across the state, according to experts.
