Southeast Travel and Tourism Professionals Celebrate the Art of Tourism in Little Rock February 10-12, 2020


Southeast Tourism Society Showcases Best of Tourism Industry

LITTLE ROCK, Ark (Feb. 10, 2020) – The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) will host the Southeast Tourism Society’s (STS) annual conference, Connections, February 10-12, 2020. More than 300 professionals from 13 southeastern states and the District of Columbia will join travel and tourism experts and visionaries at the Little Rock Marriott for three days of networking, education and advocacy programs showcasing the best in the travel and tourism industry. 

Sessions, workshops and research presentations are led by some of the tourism industry’s most respected professionals and organizations including Arkansas’s own Alan Dranow, Senior Director of Walmart Heritage Group, who will present the Walmart Foundation Presentation – The Art of Change, in addition, presentations by the Southeast Travel and Tourism Research Association (SETTRA) will provide research from top regional academics.

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will be recognized for his efforts to conserve the Buffalo National River. The event will be moderated by Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism Secretary Stacy Hurst.

Timely topics include How to Produce Social Content, Visionary and Creative Community Placemaking, Secrets of Successful DMOs: How to Produce Content that People Will Read and Share, Compliance vs. Commitment: Disability, Diversity and Destination Marketing, and Music’s Growing Influence on Tourism. A highlight of the conference will be the Shining Example Awards Ceremony and Dinner that recognizes the highest achievements in tourism marketing and development.
