In order to better serve your needs and to keep you from getting extremely long documents from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, we have decided to break down our Travelin’ Arkansas release into regions organized by date. This way you will be able to look only at the areas you are interested in covering. The territories covered in Travelin' Arkansas adhere to the six geographical regions found in the Arkansas Tour Guide. The Hot Springs Rally will kick into gear Sept. 10–12 at Summit Arena in Hot Springs. This motorcycle rally offers entertainment, a bike show, parade, rides, and vendors. Hook, Line, and Sinker Fishing Derby at DeGray Lake takes place Sept. 12 at DeGray Lake Golf Course Pond #7 in Bismarck. The pond will be stocked with catfish for the event. Participants that are over age 16 must have a valid Arkansas fishing license, which is available at the marina. Bring your own bait and tackle and one fishing pole per person. This event is co-sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Southern Bancorp. For more information call 501-865-2801.

The 18th Annual Hot Springs JazzFest takes place Sept.18-19 at various locations throughout Hot Springs. The multi-day musical marathon brings regional, national, and international jazz performers to town. Admission is free on Saturday and $10 and up for other performances.
