Israeli pianist Alon Goldstein will perform at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium Nov. 1 in El Dorado. The New York Times has described his work as “an irresistible powerhouse performance.” The first large scale classical concert of the year for the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra brings the Pines of Rome, Night on Bald Mountain, Goblin Dance and Witches Scene, and features the young pianist performing Mendelssohn's fiery Piano Concert No. 1. The 19th Annual Klassy Kruzers Fun Run takes place Nov. 6-8 in Crossett. The event will feature a street rod show, food and games. Car entries are $20. Located in southeastern Arkansas nine miles above the state's border with Louisiana, the town was named after Edward S. Crossett, a leading entrepreneur in the lumber industry's emergence in that part of the state. For more information on the event contact Danny Barton at 870-364-3842.

Cirque Shanghai Bai Xi is coming to the Historic Perot Theatre in Texarkana Nov. 23. Dating back to the Han Dynasty Chinese acrobatics were first called “Bai Xi” meaning “one hundred amazing acts’ in reference to the performers skills. The show combines displays of physical strength and balance, graceful pageantry, fast-paced dance, and martial arts performed in costume on stage. The Little River County Courthouse Lighting in Ashdown has been scheduled for Nov. 25. Ashdown became the county seat in 1906 and constructed the present courthouse a year later. The courthouse is Neo-Georgian in design and topped by a dome. It was recently restored to mint condition and is a platform for the Christmas display when it is covered in lights. The holiday event is held from Thanksgiving until New Years. The building is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Deltic Timber's 8th Annual Festival of Trees fills the Merkle and Price Galleries of the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado Nov. 28- Dec. 8. The art center’s 22,500-sq.-ft. facility houses three art galleries, a ballet studio, a 206 seat theatre, a scene and costume shop, a photography studio, educational classroom space and an open studio for artists.
