Arkansas Music

Arkansas is inspiring because so many greats are from here -- Johnny Cash, Patsy Montana, Al Green, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Scott Joplin, and the list goes on.  The music from Arkansas is diverse and innovative because it's an intersection geographically for blues, zydeco, country/western, hip-hop, gospel, bluegrass, rock-n-roll, punk and more.  But the landscape also inspires me.  You can't sit in the bayous of the delta and watch the trains go by without feeling the vibration of all the music that's come from this place.  Same thing with the Ozark mountains, muddy soybean fields, sweltering days bathed in the fragrance of magnolia trees, swimming holes and beautiful backroads.
