Arkansas Tourism has released its 2018 media kit, providing media members with updated content and inspiration from the Tourism Communications travel writers. In addition to story ideas the media kit also includes a list of 2018 anniversaries, top festivals and events across the state, a comprehensive selection of popular attractions and a list of what’s new for Arkansas this year.
Story ideas for 2018 include a feature on Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Kimberly J. Williams, a round-up of events planned to celebrate Fort Smith’s 200th birthday by Jill Rohrbach and a piece on one of the most popular ATV riding destinations in the nation, Wolf Pen Gap in Mena, by Zoie Clift.
Notable anniversaries this year include the 80th anniversary of the Great River Road, the 50th annual Jonquil Festival at Historic Washington State Park, the 50th annual Great Passion Play opening night in Eureka Springs and the 120th annual Tontitown Grape Festival.
