LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 8, 2018) The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) hosts the 2018 Going on Faith Conference August 7-9, as hundreds of religious group travel planners and motor coach operators experience the many offerings the city has for faith-based organizations.

More than 300 delegates from 28 states will enjoy customized local tours showcasing Arkansas’s capital city. Specialized itineraries include visits to cultural attractions, historic museums, restaurants and shopping venues. Stops to Esse Purse Museum, Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, Clinton Presidential Center, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Heifer International and more are slated. As nearly 70 percent of the operators and travel planners are first-time visitors, the tours provide an important way for planners to discover Little Rock.

“We are excited to be in Little Rock,” said Group Travel Family President and CEO Joe Cappuzzello. Going on Faith magazine is part of a host of Group Travel Family publication brands. “While this is the first time to bring Going on Faith to the city, we’ve brought several groups here over the years. We love Little Rock and all it has to offer,” Cappuzzello added. This marks Group Travel Family’s seventh event in Little Rock.

Following the conference, planners and operators will work with faith-based entities to book future group tours in the city. According to the Travel Industry of America (TIA), religious groups travel twice as often as the population as a whole. Going on Faith magazine is their first source of travel and destination selection. Events like this conference provide a positive impact for a destination.

“Hosting groups like Going on Faith is very important for Little Rock,” said LRCVB President & CEO Gretchen Hall. “We take every opportunity to showcase the city to group tour planners, and motor coach and bus operators so they in turn can sell our destination to their clients - in this case religious and faith-based organizations nationwide,” she explained.

Statewide partners are also hosting Arkansas pre- and post-familiarization (FAM) tours. They are: Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism, North Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, Visit Rogers, Visit Hot Springs, Visit Bentonville and Visit Eureka Springs.

The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Little Rock, charged with marketing and selling the city as a meeting, sports and leisure travel destination. The LRCVB also manages the Statehouse Convention Center, Robinson Center, River Market and multiple parking facilities.
