Firefly Atlas Hike

Join the park interpreter for one of nature’s most captivating displays: the nighttime dance of North America’s fireflies. Explore the park after dark, revisit a classic pastime of American youth by catching fireflies, and help uncover what little is known about the health of firefly populations in southeastern Arkansas. Time spent participating may be recorded as volunteer hours, as all collected data will contribute to the nationwide citizen science project, Firefly Atlas. Closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a flashlight are required. Water, insect repellent, sunscreen and snacks are recommended.
