Hubble Night Sky Challenge

Learn to navigate the sky over Lake Chicot like an astronomer! Join a park interpreter for the Hubble Night Sky Challenge, where you will get hands-on experience using a star wheel to find your way among the constellations visible above Lake Chicot State Park. Once you've learned the basics of sky navigation, we'll take a guided telescope tour to explore stunning deep-sky sights from the Messier and Caldwell catalogs, ranging from glowing nebulae to distant star clusters and galaxies.

Whether you are brand new to stargazing or looking to sharpen your skills, this program offers a practical, engaging way to build confidence under the stars and experience the night sky in a whole new way. Bring insect repellant and a flashlight (red light only). Great for families and anyone ready to turn the night sky into a map you can read.
