Louisiana Purchase Guided Hike

Celebrate National Trails Day by exploring a headwater swamp on a barrier free elevated boardwalk trail lined with bald cypress and water tupelo trees and discover a monument commemorating the 1815 survey. Meet a park interpreter at the trailhead as we venture into the swamp and discover how this remote place had a major role in the development of Arkansas and several other states. Along the way you will experience the sounds and sights of wildlife that transports you to when the Delta region was covered with deep forest. Our journey is 1/2-mile in length. Bring drinking water, sunscreen, and insect repellant. Dress to be outdoors and wear appropriate hiking footwear.
