Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville offers a Sunset Cinema on July 1. Grab a lawn chair or blanket, bring the family, and enjoy a beautiful sunset and movie. Featured presentations will begin 30 minutes after dusk. There will be pre-movie entertainment. Admission is $1 for ages 12 and older. Call 479-968-2530 for details.

The 4th annual Taste of South Logan County takes place in Booneville on July 15. Local restaurants, businesses, and individuals show off their culinary skills with main dishes, desserts, salads, and more. Admission is $6. The event is held at Jeral Hampton Meeting Place. Locally raised and produced food has been called “the new organic” – better tasting, better for the environment, better for local economies, and better for your health. The 3rd annual Bountiful Arkansas event on July 16-17 is a hands-on weekend of tasting and learning about locally grown produce from Arkansas. A Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned event, the 9th annual Bordertown Bash BBQ Competition is set for July 16-17 in Fort Smith. The 27th annual Grape Festival in Altus takes place July 30-31. Festivities include a grape stomp, games, food, music, crafts, street dances, Bacchus look-alike contest, and more.
