May 12-22is the date for"Plaza Suite," a comedy by Neil Simon, at the Pocket Community Theatre in Hot Springs.Performances are held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The play involves three separate stories that take place in a suite at the Plaza Hotel. Kayak Campout is May 14-15 at Lake Ouachita State Park in Mountain Pine. The overnight kayaking adventure includes meals and evening programs and information on the history, geology and wildlife of Lake Ouachita. The 6th annual Stueart Pennington Running Of The Tubs is May 21 in Hot Springs. The event is an open bathtub race that highlights the city's colorful history of "We Bathe the World," on world-famous Bathhouse Row. Lake Catherine State Park in Hot Springs is the scene of Memorial Day Mania on May 27-30.Park interpreters lead hikes, lake tours and nature programs during this holiday weekend. There will also be swimming, games, crafts, a sandcastle competition, and a celebration of the Nature Cabin’s grand opening for the season.
