Paddle your way into a unique overnight adventure on Lake Ouachita during this immersive guided kayak campout experience. Learn the basics of kayak camping, including how to pack gear efficiently, travel on the water safely, and practice Leave No Trace principles while exploring the lake. After paddling out together, the group will set up camp on one of the lake’s scenic islands and enjoy an evening surrounded by nature. This program is a terrific starting point for anyone interested in island camping and kayak touring but unsure how to begin.
Some paddling experience is required. Children ages 6–12 must ride in a tandem kayak with guardian. Children under 6 are not permitted.
Participants may bring their own kayak and equipment or rent from the park for an additional fee.
Participation is by reservation only. Register by April 21. The event is expected to fill so contact us as soon as possible if you have questions.
