PAINTING THE ARKANSAS PARKS EXHIBIT

Mississippi River State Park is proud to host the Painting the Arkansas Parks exhibit, a statewide celebration of Arkansas’s natural beauty through the eyes of plein air artists. Organized by the Heart of America Artists Association, the project began in 2022 and highlights artists painting on location in some of Arkansas’s most scenic parks and public lands. Mississippi River State Park was featured as one of the tour locations in 2023, inspiring artists with the unique landscapes where the Mississippi River, Crowley’s Ridge, and the Arkansas Delta meet.

The exhibit features original artwork created during the artists’ visits to Arkansas parks, including larger studio works paired with smaller plein air studies painted on-site. Visitors will experience scenes inspired by the forests, waterways, wildlife, and quiet beauty that make Mississippi River State Park a special destination for outdoor recreation and artistic inspiration.

Guests are invited to explore the exhibit and discover how Arkansas’s state parks continue to inspire creativity, conservation, and a deeper connection to the natural world.
