Terry Eastin, B.S.P.A., University of Arkansas


Terry Eastin, owner of Eastin Outdoors, Inc. is also Executive Director of Mississippi River Trail, Inc. and a Consultant for the City of Little Rock. Throughout her career, Terry has worked tirelessly to bring attention to the conservation, health, and economic benefits of urban trails. She is the recipient of the coveted Kodak American Greenways Award presented by National Geographic Society, Eastman-Kodak, and the Conservation Fund (2007) for her work on the Mississippi River Trail.

Terry is Co-Chair of the 2008 National Trails Symposium planned for Little Rock, Arkansas, former Chair of the Arkansas Trails Council, and recipient of the American Trails “Trails for Health” Award (2006). Creator of the Arkansas River Trail Medical Mile Project as a Consultant for the City of Little Rock, Terry worked with Heart Clinic Arkansas, a statewide group of 22 cardiologists, to raise $2.1 million dollars for development of the nation’s first “outdoor linear health museum.” Terry has spoken publicly about the Arkansas River Trail and the Medical Mile in the cities of Atlanta, New Orleans, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Chicago, Las Vegas, Memphis, St. Louis, Davenport, Washington D.C., Portland and elsewhere.

As Executive Director of Mississippi River Trail, Inc., Terry has worked tirelessly to bring attention to the conservation, health, and economic benefits of the Mississippi River Trail by developing a “String of Pearls” concept that targets key urban and rural communities. Under consideration for designation as a 2016 National Park Service Centennial project, the Trail connects 14 national park units, 14 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Management areas, 400 communities, 123 counties, and 10 states.

Terry is also a member of the U.S. Bike Routes Task Force, League of American Bicyclists, American Trails, Rails to Trails Conservancy, Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas, and a life member of the Ozark Highlands Trails Association.
