Fantastic fishing found in Arkansas

Looking for some peace and quiet time in the outdoors? Fishing the many lakes in Arkansas is a great way to explore The Natural State.

There are wonderful lakes across the state including these three options below that can be found in the more southern part of the state.

Millwood Lake near Ashdown is a top fishing spot in the state. Much of the 29,260-acre lake is flooded timber, which serves as great cover for fish like largemouth bass and channel and flathead catfish. Each year, the lake is home to bass fishing tournaments too. Along with fishing, the lake and surrounding area is also known as one of Arkansas' best birding spots too and is recognized by Audubon as an Important Bird Area. On the lake's southeast shore, you can find Millwood State Park

Lake Columbia is a 3,000-acre lake near Magnolia. There are boat ramps and fishing piers around the lake and a  picnic area too.

Largemouth bass are what the lake is most known for but there are other types of fish in the lake too.

White Oak Lake near Camden is one of the biggest Arkansas Game and Fish Commission lakes in the state. The lake has a reputation for producing big fish. You can access the lake via boat ramps and there is also a barrier-free fishing pier here.  White Oak Lake State Park is located on the upper lake and here you can find campsites, picnic sites, hiking trails, a mountain bike trail, and more. Poison Spring Battleground State Park is just a few miles away too.
