The Gallery of History, located at 412 East Faulkner in El Dorado, Arkansas, is a museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of South Arkansas. Operated by the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society (SAHPS), the gallery features rotating exhibits from permanent collections and traveling displays, offering visitors a comprehensive glimpse into the region's past. 

One of the notable attractions within the gallery is the Union County Sports Hall of Fame, which celebrates local athletes and coaches who have made significant contributions to sports at various levels. The museum's walls are adorned with memorabilia and photographs, chronicling the achievements and stories of these sports figures, thereby preserving the county's rich athletic heritage. 

The Gallery of History also serves as the administrative hub for SAHPS, playing a pivotal role in organizing community events such as the annual Mayhaw Festival. This festival, held on the first Saturday of May, is a celebration of the indigenous mayhaw berry and includes activities like house tours, vendor booths, and the sale of mayhaw jelly made by society volunteers.
