The fourth annual Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle returns Saturday, Sept. 19, bringing another remarkable evening of music to Riceland Hall at Fowler Center on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Curated and hosted by Rosanne Cash, this year's performance features acclaimed singer-songwriters Ruthie Foster and Rhett Miller, with acclaimed guitarist and producer John Leventhal joining the evening's collaborations.
Rather than a traditional concert, the Songwriting Circle offers an intimate look at the creative process as these celebrated artists share the inspiration behind their music, perform together and create the kind of spontaneous moments that only happen when extraordinary musicians share the stage.
Presented by the Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home, the event celebrates Johnny Cash's songwriting legacy while supporting the preservation of his childhood home in Dyess. Since its debut, the Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle has become one of Arkansas' premier music events, bringing Grammy winners, legendary performers and some of America's finest songwriters together for a one-of-a-kind experience.
