Terror Tuesday: The Frighteners 30th Anniversary (1996, R)

Before The Lord of the Rings, director Peter Jackson delivered this wildly entertaining blend of horror, comedy, and supernatural chaos starring Michael J. Fox. The Frighteners has grown into a major cult favorite thanks to its inventive visual effects, dark humor, creepy ghosts, and energetic big-screen thrills. Funny, spooky, and endlessly entertaining, this underrated gem is a perfect Terror Tuesday crowd movie.
