Ron Newport Recycling Education Park

This environmental education center is designed to be a field trip destination for children of ages appropriate to grades K-5, but appeals to all family members. The major educational emphasis is on materials that can be recycled at home or school. The park features whimsical sculptures made from recycled materials and consists of 11 Education Stations, a pavilion, picnic tables, barbeque unit and games. The total field trip consists of a tour of the drive thru recycling plant, a visit to the compost demonstration site, and the mulch area, and a tour of the Education Stations. Games available are hop-scotch, "Kid" tic-tac-toe, volleyball and Around Nine Frisbee Golf.
