Fun Day Friday
What did children do for fun in the 1800s? How did people get the things they needed before the internet? What did kids do for fun in the 19th century? Join park staff every Friday in Summer to explore a unique question about Arkansas history and life in Powhatan. Participants will explore history with activities including games, songs, crafts, and adventures through the park. These programs are geared towards children ages 8-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
Two special Fun Day Fridays will celebrate Federal Holidays:
June 19th: What is Juneteenth about, and why do we celebrate it as a federal holiday? Join park staff to discover the history of Juneteenth through songs, crafts, and games. This program is geared towards children ages 8-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
July 3rd: How would people of 19th century Powhatan have celebrated the Independence Day? Join park staff and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with historic songs, games, and a cannon demonstration. This program is for geared towards children ages 8-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
