Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Painting the Past Hike & Craft

Calling all Girl Scouts; join Lake Sylvia Recreation Area for Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend. This weekend is a national effort that encourages Girl Scouts all across the U.S. to get outdoors to make meaningful connections and memories at parks. 

Here at Lake Sylvia, we are offering a variety of events such as our Painting the Past program. At this event you will learn about Camp Ouachita Historic Site and its historical significance for the Girl Scouts and Arkansas' recreative legacy. Enjoy a half mile walking tour to learn the rich history of Lake Sylvia and Camp Ouachita. Explore the renovated and historic structures, view vintage photos and hear memories of the past as you take a stroll on the old cabin trail. Then, in the historic Ogden Hall paint the past by water coloring vintage Camp Ouachita postcards to take home as a souvenir of your visit.
