"Oak-tober" Hike & Craft

Celebrate the month of "Oak-tober" by trekking on the Trees of the Forest Trail. Discover the many kinds of oak trees found at Lake Sylvia on this 0.5-mile loop trail. On the way out, learn how to identify oak trees by their leaves and bark. On the way back, discover why tree leaves change color and fall during autumn. After the hike, make a leaf print mosaic to take home as a souvenir of what you have learned. Make sure to bring water and wear good hiking shoes.
