Women in the Woods: Backpacking

Lake Frierson State Park’s Women in the Woods crew hits the trail for a backpacking trip at Village Creek State Park. We will be hiking 2 miles in and out (4 miles over 2 days) along the moderately strenuous Austell Trail and Military Road Trail to camp for the night in a designated spot and then venture back the next day. This event is free, but registration is required, and ladies will be expected to bring their own gear and food for the full backpacking experience. This event is part of the Women in the Woods series at Lake Frierson State Park. Women can grow their roots in Arkansas State Parks. Join us on the first Sunday of each month at Lake Frierson State Park to explore outdoor skills and form personal connections with park resources and recreation opportunities. Activities are led by park interpreters and local professionals. Pre-registration for all Women in the Woods events is required.
