Food and fun this November
The holiday season is upon us! It’s a great time to get out and have some fun with the entire family.
On Nov. 18, head to Parkin Archeological State Park in Parkin for Casqui Foods Day. Sample foods that would have been enjoyed by the ancient inhabitants of Casqui. While the ancient inhabitants of Parkin didn’t have pizza and cheeseburgers to enjoy, they had a varied and healthy diet. Experience the tastes of the past. Most of the dishes will be created from food grown in the park’s on-site garden and other ingredients gathered from the surrounding area. Learn about what foods were and weren’t available to the prehistoric Native Americans and marvel at how they still created delicious dishes.
The Crittenden County Courthouse square in Marion is the site for Christmas on the Square on Nov. 30. The family-friendly event features train rides, live music provided by the Marion High School Jazz Band and Choir, holiday treats, cookie decorating, and, of course, a visit from Santa himself.
