A holly, jolly December

 Updated:

The holiday season is here! Get into the spirit with these great holiday events.

Hoxie hosts Dickens in the Park/Dickens Winter Wonderland on Dec. 1 at the Hoxie Service Center. Enjoy the festively decorated city park and the community Christmas parade. Check out the Dickens Winter Wonderland, which includes a performance of “A Christmas Carol,” complete with carolers dressed in Victorian costumes. Visitors will also enjoy visits with Santa, a Victorian costume contest, holiday music and more.

On Dec. 3, Delta Heritage Trail State Park near Helena-West Helena offers a Winter Day Camp. Participants can make their very own gingerbread train, bird feeder, Christmas ornament and candle. Also learn about trains, the history of the state park and the animals that are active only when it’s cold outside.

Monticello welcomes the 11th annual Santa Train on Dec. 10. The day offers visits with Santa & Mrs. Claus, as well as drawings for toys and gifts, providing fun and excitement for all ages. Bring the children and enjoy rides on this fun holiday train.

And, of course, there are fun events and activities throughout Arkansas this month as part of the 2016 Arkansas Trail of Holiday Lights. From parades to holiday lights, you’ll find all the fun throughout The Natural State here.
