Argenta Vibe Music Series: Arkansauce

Argenta Vibe Music Series: Arkansauce brings Arkansas-based progressive string band Arkansauce to Argenta on October 17. Drawing inspiration from the Ozark Mountains, the quartet creates its own distinctive take on "newgrass," blending bluegrass instrumentation with complex melodies, improvisational string playing, intriguing rhythms, and deep bass grooves. The band features Tom Andersen on bass, Zac Archuleta on guitar, Ethan Bush on mandolin, and Adams Collins on banjo, with all four members contributing lead and harmony vocals and songwriting.

Founded in 2011 by musicians connected to the Fayetteville music scene, Arkansauce has spent more than a decade developing a sound that is rooted in Arkansas but shaped by life on the road. Their music combines the energy and spontaneity of a live string band with thoughtful songwriting, hard-hitting hooks, and a sense of adventure. Their performances have been praised for their infectious energy and ability to uplift audiences.

Arkansauce has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe and shared stages with artists including Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass, Railroad Earth, The Del McCoury Band, Leftover Salmon, The Wood Brothers, and Sam Bush. Their fifth album, OK to Wonder, was released in 2023 to critical acclaim, with songs receiving airplay on SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction.

The free outdoor performance takes place at Argenta Green in North Little Rock's Argenta Arts District.
