Hometown Christmas
Hometown Christmas in the Park – Dover, Arkansas
Celebrate the magic of the holiday season at Dover’s beloved Hometown Christmas in the Park, held annually on the first Saturday in December. Hosted by the Dover Area Chamber of Commerce, this festive community tradition has grown from a small, citizen‑led parade into one of the area’s most cherished holiday events.
Families and visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening filled with local craft and food vendors, live music, photos with Santa, a joyful Christmas parade, and a sparkling fireworks finale that lights up the night sky.
To spread cheer throughout the community, the Chamber hosts a Christmas Lights Contest for homes, churches, and businesses within the city limits. Winners receive special recognition, yard signs, and the bragging rights that come with creating some of Dover’s brightest displays.
Another favorite tradition is the Sponsor a Christmas Tree program. Fifteen beautifully lit trees are placed at the entrance of Dover City Park, each available for sponsorship by individuals, families, groups, or businesses.
- $75 – Decorate your own sponsored tree
- $150 – Let the Chamber decorate it for you
Participants may choose a theme or dedicate their tree in honor of someone special. Photos of the trees are shared on the Chamber’s Facebook page, where the community can vote for and enjoy their favorites throughout the season.
Vendor spaces are available for $25, offering a wonderful opportunity for artisans, small businesses, and organizations to join the celebration.
