There’s a distinct magic that settles over Fayetteville when more than 500,000 LED lights kick on across the Historic Downtown Square. For six weeks each winter, this downtown becomes one of the Ozarks’ favorite gathering places, a glowing, beloved holiday tradition where cold nights call for hot cocoa, seasonal food truck treats and slow strolls beneath the trees. Lights of the Ozarks, Powered by SWEPCO, shines nightly from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., leaving plenty of time to bundle up and make an evening of it with dinner at a downtown restaurant or holiday shopping at neighboring boutiques.
The season officially begins with the 33rd Annual Lighting Ceremony on November 20 at 6 p.m., when the switch is flipped for the first time amid live music, special performances and plenty of holiday cheer. The celebrations continue on December 3 at 6:30 p.m. as colorful floats take over downtown for the Lights of the Ozarks Parade.
