What to know

You won’t want to miss this museum that flies! In a way, it’s literal -- Fayetteville’s Arkansas Air & Military Museum is an unusual one in that many of the historic aircraft on display still fly. Residing in an all-wood hangar listed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places, this largest and only aviation museum in Arkansas is a fascinating glimpse into the colorful history of aviation in the state, replete with original artifacts and aviation memorabilia. Small but mighty, this tucked-away gem is an experience the entire family can enjoy.

Vintage aircraft, including pre-World War II racing planes, aeronautical memorabilia, all with an emphasis on Arkansas aviation history; gift shop in historic 1943 white frame hangar; 15 military vehicles including the familiar Willys Jeep, WWII WC-54 Ambulance, Korean M37 3/4-ton cargo truck, 2 1/2-ton 6x6 cargo truck used in Desert Storm, and a British Ferret light armored scout car. Multiple military aircraft like WWII Aeronca L-3 observation aircraft and C-130 are on site. There are also 14 static and restoration project aircraft. Some artifacts on display include gas mask, items from the homefront WWII, WWII German daggers and artifacts from almost every war.

Along with all the awesome artifacts there are 2 rotating exhibits on site and at least one temporary aircraft in the white hangar.
