Jacksonville Museum of Military History
What to know
Located two miles from the front gate of the
Little Rock Air Force Base (LRAFB), this museum is located in downtown
Jacksonville on the original grounds of the Arkansas Ordnance Plant, which
operated during World War II. The museum showcases a number of artifacts
associated with LRAFB dating back to its opening in 1955 and including exhibits
from the most recent military conflict for which LRAFB personnel were deployed.
Also located on the grounds of the museum stands a memorial to those who were
killed in 1965 Titan Missile explosion, which killed 53 people.
