Arkansas Wine Trail

Arkansas offers a wine trail worth exploring — one bottle, one story and one unforgettable sip at a time.

Sip locally crafted wines, walk among the vines and discover the history behind winemaking traditions that run generations deep.

Arkansas Wine Country traces its roots to European immigrants who saw the Arkansas River Valley’s fertile sandy soil and moderate climate as ideal for viticulture. Jacob Post arrived in 1872, followed by Johann Wiederkehr in 1880, each establishing vineyards that laid the foundation for Arkansas’ wine industry.

Today, the state’s wineries stretch across a broader landscape. The Arkansas River Valley remains a hub for wineries, while places like Tontitown, once home to a thriving community of Italian winemakers, are reclaiming their heritage. Vineyards have emerged across the state, expanding the state’s wine trail and carrying its legacy forward.

Step into Arkansas’ wine cellars and tasting rooms, where history is poured by the glass. Time your visit with one of the state’s annual wine festivals, where tastings come with a side of live music, local flavors and a celebration of community and harvest.
