Take your ride offroad on side-by-side and ATV trails like Wolf Pen Gap near Mena. These rugged paths provide a high-octane escape, carving through dense forests, rocky climbs and ridgeline views that make it easy to spend an entire day exploring without seeing the same stretch twice.

When you're ready to ride the current instead of the road, it's time to visit the Mulberry River. Known for its clear water, gravel bars and playful spring rapids, the Mulberry is one of Arkansas’ favorite float streams. Spring and early summer typically bring the best floating conditions, while calmer late-summer stretches are perfect for relaxed paddling and swimming stops. Don’t forget water shoes and dry bags. They are especially helpful on stretches with frequent gravel bar stops.

• Van Buren: Walk down Main Street and feel like you've stepped onto a movie set. The Victorian architecture is stunning, and the shopping is top-tier. Browse vintage vinyl at Iron Horse Records, grab coffee and a good book at Chapters on Main Bookstore & Coffee Shop, or stop in at local favorites like Firefly Boutique and Gifts or Main Street Mercantile.
• Fort Smith: A city with a deep history, offering everything from contemporary murals to the historic Fort Smith National Historic Site. Travelers should also make time for the U.S. Marshals Museum, where immersive exhibits tell the stories of the lawmen, outlaws and frontier justice that shaped the region.
• Mena: Nestled at the foot of Rich Mountain, this is the starting point of the spectacular Talimena National Scenic Byway and is quickly becoming a renowned mountain biking destination. 
• Alma: Known as the "Spinach Capital of the World," this quirky town features a Popeye statue and serves as a gateway to the Ozarks with its beautiful Lake Alma hiking trails.
