Birding Basics and Hike Workshop: Barton
Birding can seem overwhelming to start. Guidebooks have pages and pages of birds that can be frequently hard to distinguish. Here is your chance to learn the basics and get you well on the way to discovering birds that thrive at Delta Heritage Trail State Park. Your journey will start at the visitor center where a park interpreter will cover some practical techniques for building your bird identification list. Then we will put these new skills to use on a 2-mile hike on a gravel surface trail that lasts 1.5 hours. Please bring drinking water, snacks, insect repellant, and sunscreen. Registration is required; call the park by September 19 by 5 p.m. to register.
