Cold Weather Hiking Workshop: Barton Trailhead

Winter at Delta Heritage Trail State Park is an unique experience. From seasonal wildlife, solitude, and open views, its a outdoor Delta adventure you do not want to miss. One challenge to overcome is cold weather and here is your chance to gain practical knowledge for staying safe and comfortable outdoors in cold weather. A park interpreter will demonstrate how to prepare a winter outdoor adventure on the trail and then you can put your new skills to use on a two-mile guided hike on a gravel surface trail lasting one-hour. The pace will be leisurely with several stops along the way to fully immerse ourselves in the winter Delta outdoors. Dress to be warm, have comfortable footwear, and bring drinking water. Registration is required by calling the park by Friday, December 4 at 5 p.m. at (870) 572-2352.
