Delta Heritage Trail Guided Hike: Mellwood Trailhead
Here is your chance to explore the rich history of Delta Heritage Trail on National Trails Day. Our journey will begin at the Mellwood trailhead with a park interpreter on a guided hike along a gravel surface trail lasting about 45 minutes. Discover how this rural location was in the middle of the Great Flood of 1927 and many others and how the events here shaped a nation. Along the way we will travel the former rail line's path and see the clues it left to show how it shaped Mellwood. Bring drinking water, insect repellant, and sunscreen. Dress to be outdoors and have footwear you are comfortable hiking in. Registration is required by calling the park at (870) 572-2352 by June 5.
