Discover the Yancopin Bridge Hike

Deep in the Delta woods sits a place few people have seen in decades — the Yancopin Bridge. Join a park interpreter for a 3‑mile round‑trip hike on Delta Heritage Trail, a journey that lasts about 2.5 hours.

This hike begins on a gravel-surface trail, leading about one mile into a lowland forest before reaching the historic railroad bridge stretching roughly 0.5-miles across the Arkansas River. This impressive structure offers sweeping views of the river and tells the story of the former rail line’s challenging crossing, set within a quiet, forested landscape.

Participants will meet at the Watson trailhead and then caravan in their own vehicles to a location near the bridge. Registration is required by calling the park no later than the day before the program at (870) 572-2352.

Bring drinking water, snacks, insect repellent and sunscreen, and wear comfortable hiking footwear. Be ready for a memorable walk into a remote corner of the Delta.
