Mississippi River Levee Riding Adventure

Arkansas City is Delta Heritage Trail State Park's southern terminus. This small community is steeped in Delta history and is the ideal starting place for an outdoor adventure. From the Arkansas City trailhead, a park interpreter will guide a bike ride atop the Mississippi River levee at a leisurely pace covering 5-miles in one hour. Your journey will take you across sweeping farmlands where harvest season is in full swing. The route also passes by wetlands along the Mississippi River that teem with birds. This adventure is ideal for someone new to riding. Bikes and helmets are included with the registration fee. Registration is required by calling the park by 12 p.m. on September 26 at (870) 572-2352.
